New Delhi, Sept 2025 – A defining chapter in India’s semiconductor journey is unfolding. At the Semicon India 2025 summit in Delhi, policymakers, industry leaders, and investors underlined India’s ambition to emerge as a global hub for semiconductor design and manufacturing.Officials emphasized that the government’s Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme, subsidies, and policy reforms have already drawn billions of dollars in commitments from leading global chipmakers. Industry experts said India’s unique strength lies not only in assembly and manufacturing but also in chip design talent, which is among the largest pools worldwide.

According to government estimates, India is targeting a significant share of the $1 trillion global semiconductor market by 2030. Several new projects—ranging from wafer fabs to design centers—are already in advanced planning or construction phases.

“India’s semiconductor journey is at an inflection point, where innovation meets opportunity,” an official said, adding that partnerships with global firms will accelerate technology transfer and capacity building.

 दिल्लीतील यशोभूमी (IICC) येथे २ ते ४ सप्टेंबरदरम्यान पार पडलेल्या 'सेमिकॉन इंडिया २०२५' परिषदेने भारताच्या सेमीकंडक्टर मोहिमेला एक नवीन दिशा दिली आहे. या परिषदेने धोरण, गुंतवणूक आणि तंत्रज्ञान भागीदारीच्या माध्यमातून देशाला जागतिक चिप हब बनवण्याच्या मार्गावरील महत्त्वाचे टप्पे अधोरेखित केले.

'डिजिटल डायमंड्स' आणि जागतिक सहयोग

परिषदेच्या उद्घाटनावेळी राष्ट्रीय नेतृत्वाने चिप्सना 'डिजिटल डायमंड्स' अशी उपमा देत जागतिक सहकार्यासाठी भारताचे दरवाजे खुले असल्याचे संकेत दिले. 'Designed in India, Made in India, Trusted by the World' या दृष्टीकोनावर पुन्हा एकदा भर देण्यात आला, जो भारताची आत्मनिर्भरता आणि जागतिक स्तरावरील विश्वासार्हता दर्शवतो.

मुख्य घोषणा आणि उपक्रम

• गुंतवणुकीचे आकर्षण: केंद्र सरकारच्या 'सेमिकॉन इंडिया प्रोग्राम' अंतर्गत फॅब, ATMP/OSAT, डिस्प्ले आणि डिझाइन क्षमतांसाठी मोठ्या प्रमाणावर प्रोत्साहन निधीची घोषणा करण्यात आली. २०२५ मध्ये अतिरिक्त प्रकल्पांना मंजुरी मिळाल्याने एकूण गुंतवणुकीत अनेक अब्ज डॉलर्सची वाढ झाली आहे.

• 'India Deep-Tech Investment Alliance (IDTA)': स्थानिक डिझाइन आणि डीपटेक इकोसिस्टमला चालना देण्यासाठी 'इंडिया डीप-टेक इन्व्हेस्टमेंट अलायन्स' सारख्या गुंतवणूक समूहांबद्दलचे निवेदन या परिषदेत समोर आले.

• जागतिक भागीदारी: ASML सारख्या जागतिक उपकरण नेत्यांच्या सहभागाने भारताच्या तंत्रज्ञान सहकार्याची पुष्टी झाली. अमेरिका, तैवान आणि जपानसारख्या देशांशी सुरू असलेली भागीदारी तंत्रज्ञान हस्तांतरण आणि पुरवठा साखळी बळकटीकरणासाठी महत्त्वाची ठरेल.                    या परिषदेने केवळ धोरणात्मक घोषणांपुरते मर्यादित न राहता, धोरण, पायाभूत सुविधा, जागतिक भागीदारी आणि कौशल्य विकास या चारही स्तरांवर एकात्मिक दिशा घेतली. प्रकल्प-मंजुरींची वाढ, डीपटेक गुंतवणूक घोषणा आणि प्रमुख तंत्रज्ञान-पुरवठादारांची उपस्थिती यामुळे भारताच्या सेमीकंडक्टर प्रवासाला खऱ्या अर्थाने एक नवा टप्पा मिळाला आहे.
