Krrish 4 Set : Hrithik Roshan and Rakesh Roshan Aim for Global-Scale Comebac

📍 Mumbai, Sept 12 — Actor Hrithik Roshan has reiterated that Krrish 4 remains a “very difficult” film, stressing that fans will “have to wait longer” for the next chapter in India’s flagship superhero franchise. Producer Rakesh Roshan confirmed a consolidated timeline: filming is set for mid-2026, with a theatrical release targeted for 2027.

Why the delay

According to Rakesh Roshan, the project faced major budgeting hurdles, give the large scale required to compete with global superhero cinema. These have now been resolved, enabling             pre-production to move ahead.

Hrithik emphasized that Krrish 4 demands a script of depth and balance with economic realities, alongside extensive VFX planning. “It’s obviously a difficult film. It requires patience and the right resources,” he said, aligning with earlier remarks made during Fighter promotions.

Current progress

Multiple outlets report that pre-production is in full swing. With finances aligned, the Roshans are planing a mid-2026 start for principal photography. Reports confirm the 2027 release as the most realistic window, reflecting both budgeting needs and Hrithik’s schedule, which includes War 2.

The franchise’s stature

The Krrish franchise, India’s flagship superhero series, began with Koi… Mil Gaya (2003), followed by Krrish (2006) and Krrish 3 (2013). Over the years, the Krrish saga has carved out a unique place in Indian pop culture.
