Shilpa Shetty, Raj Kundra booked; ₹60 Cr fraud LOC issued

          In ₹60.48 crore cheating case linked to Best Deal TV Pvt. Ltd.

Mumbai, Sept 5, 2025: The Mumbai Police Economic Offences Wing (EOW) has issued a Lookout Circular (LOC) against actress Shilpa Shetty and businessman Raj Kundra in connection with an alleged ₹60 crore fraud, officials confirmed. The case, initially registered at Juhu Police Station on August 14, was transferred to the EOW due to the scale of the alleged financial irregularities.

According to police reports, complainant Deepak Kothari alleged that between 2015 and 2023, he was induced to invest around ₹60.48 crore under the pretext of a loan and later an investment in Best Deal TV Pvt. Ltd.Best Deal TV Pvt. Ltd., an e-commerce firm promoted in 2015.

The complaint stated that an initial request was made for a ₹75 crore loan at 12% interest. Later, citing “tax savings,” the loan was converted into an “investment.” Funds were allegedly diverted for personal use rather than business purposes, Kothari claimed.

Given the repeated foreign travel of the accused, police officials said the LOC was necessary to ensure their availability during the investigation.

Ltd. या ई-कॉमर्स कंपनीच्या नावाखाली त्यांना सुमारे ₹60.48 कोटी गुंतवण्यास भाग पाडले गेले. सुरुवातीला 12% व्याजाने ₹75 कोटी कर्ज मागितले गेले; नंतर ‘कर बचत’च्या नावाखाली ते गुंतवणुकीत रूपांतरित करण्यात आले.तक्रारीनुसार, निधी व्यवसायासाठी न वापरता वैयक्तिक वापरासाठी वळवण्यात आल्याचा आरोप आहे.

दोघांचा वारंवार परदेश प्रवास लक्षात घेऊन तपासात सहकार्य मिळावे यासाठी LOC जारी करण्यात आल्याचे पोलिस अधिकाऱ्यांनी सांगितले.
